Congratulations to all my teammates on a great year. For those not playing fall ball get some rest because we are in it to win it next year.

I think people should realize too that if you choose the first option (At someone's house) then you should also be offering up your house when the time comes for the party Smile

Carr, Franco selected to 2009 All-Star games

NewsThe Just a Bit Outside Softball Club is pleased to announce that Frank Carr and Ryan Phelps-Franco have been selected as the clubs representatives to the 2009 Andy's All-Star games taking place on Thursday night, July 16. Both men will be making their first appearance in the All-Star game.

Frank Carr will be representing the club in the Mens B2/B3 All-Star Challenge, which is scheduled to take place at 6:30pm.

Ryan Phelps-Franco will be representing the club in the Coed B1/B2 All-Star Challenge, which is scheduled to take place immediately after the Mens game, at approximately 8:00pm.

"Both players have had outstanding years so far for their respective clubs, and I think they'll represent the club just as well as our previous years' All-Stars have at the games" said the club's General Manager, Chris Furman

Furman's comments about both players:
"Frank is just one of those tough, blue-collar kind of guys that gives you max effort every time he goes on the field. He does so many of the little things well that you rarely notice, but by the end of the day, he's 3 for 4 in a game with a couple of runs and RBI's and has made some great plays in the field."

"Ryan, on the other hand, he's the flashy leadoff guy that tells you he's going to do something, then just goes out and does it. He gets on base a ton, and loves to make those highlight reel-type plays out in the field."

Currently for the mens team, Frank is 1st on the team in hits (10), batting average (.588), on base percentage (.636), tied for first in rbi's (7), tied for second in walks (4), second in slugging percentage (.647) and second in OPS (1.283).

Currently for the coed team, Ryan is tied for first in hits (17), first in walks (8), second in runs (12), second in runs created (17.647), third in rbi's (9), second in on base percentage (.735), third in slugging (.923) and third in OPS (1.658)

There have been some rumors flying around about ballot stuffing taking place, but Furman was quick to deny those rumors.

"We know for a fact that there was no ballot stuffing taking place... since the only thing that's stuffed within this club is the 6-pack of tube socks Art [Wise] stuffs inside his cup before each game" Furman said.

Official vote tallies after the jump.
